Australia and Pakistan will lock horns in the third and final T20I of the series at Bellerive Oval, Hobart, on Monday (November 18). The hosts have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead and will look for a whitewash. On the other hand, the visitors will be keen to avoid embarrassment.
The Aussies won a rain-hit encounter in Brisbane to kickstart the series, which came following a defeat in the ODIs. After this, the Josh Inglis-led unit got home in a nail-biting encounter in Sydney, courtesy of a brilliant spell from Spencer Johnson.
Australia won the toss and opted to bat first, getting off to a flyer, thanks to Jake Fraser-McGurk and Matthew Short. Once Haris Rauf began his show, the wickets tumbled at regular intervals, and the Kangaroos were restricted to 147/9 in 20 overs. Skipper Inglis didn't open his account, and the powerful middle-order failed to get going, with a couple of batters getting past the 20s.
Pakistan's new ball bowlers - Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah - were taken to the cleaners, but the rest of the bowling attack came to the team's rescue. Rauf continued his dream run with a four-wicket haul, while Abbas Afridi picked up three wickets. Chinaman Sufiyan Muqeem was excellent, too, grabbing two important wickets.
