As Hurricane Isaias passes by Charleston, South Carolina just 50 miles off the coast, the redfish are still eating in the marsh flats. We wade fish in knee deep water after the elusive redfish. Flood tides, which are just high tides that are usually within 1-2ft higher than a regular high tide, create flooding in the marsh grass. Ideally, you want knee deep water, but shin deep, even thigh deep can work.
Redfish have a mouth on the bottom of their face. Hence, they are bottom feeders. When aggressively feeding and looking for food, they will occasionally do a head stand. Their tail will emerge from the shallows to "Wave" at the angler. It is sight fishing at its finest. It's why I am hooked.
