(26 Aug 2016) Organizers of the annual Jember Fashion Carnival held a preview showing Friday (26 AUG. 2016) of some of the costumes that will be worn at the Jember Grand Carnival.
This year's theme is Revival, and will be held August 25 to 28 in the city of Jember.
At the closing of the event on Sunday, as many as two thousand talents will be dressed in costumes with different themes.
In the preview that was held in front of the media from several countries, Dinan Faris, designer and the president of JFC to show some costume to wear.
There are about a hundred of different costumes with the theme of the local culture, patriotism, peace, forest fires, flora and fauna, sports, technology, religious and more will be shown by talents on the 3,6 kilometer street stage on Sunday.
Faris said that he felt proud that this year's carnival JFC crowned as the best in Asia and the third best in the world after Rio de Janeiro and France.
Faris who designed and won the best national costume in Miss World last year said that this year he will design four different Indonesian national costume to wear by Miss Indonesia at the Miss World and several other competitions.
Faris said that next year, he will make the carnival bigger and pretentious to make better known the world JFC.
Carnival event in Indonesia has become a permanent agenda to attract tourists in recent years. Besides Jember Fashion Carnival, there are Banyuwangi Echo Carnival, in the Solo Batik Carnival and several other carnival.
