The Spa town of Buxton, or "Buxton Spa" as it is also known, lies just outside the National Park boundaries but within the High Peak of Derbyshire, in the centre of the UK. The Romans were attracted to the area by the warm springs and the strategic location. Not surprisingly a fort and settlement called Aquae Arnemetiae was established here and for the following centuries these springs have been a major source of importance and income for Buxton. Buxton boasts many buildings and landmarks of architectural and historic interest , some of which can now be shared in the google 3D Warehouse and in google earth.
