It's been 3 LOOOOOONG years since my 85 ATC 250R was torn down for a little face lift. I don't know why it's taken me so long to get it to the finish line. I thought this video would be the one where I finish it off... but unfortunately you'll have to wait for ONE MORE VIDEO to see it all complete. That little face lift of a project has evolved into a full blown nut and bolt, full motor tear down, super detailed rebuild... that's how it goes sometimes!
So in this video you get to see the brakes go on, the tires get swapped around from that cat brand to the much better Serwa Tires. Lots of ATD-ATC products. Lots of Vintage Motorsports (Mike Palmgren products). Foot pegs from Rob Wicks (Wicked Metal Designs). Carb from Curtie Eldridge (223 Cycles). The list goes on and on.
As you can see towards the end of the video, the start up was successful. I took the opportunity to share some vintage footage from the winter of 1998 when me and my buddies Eric and Doug reassembled this R the last time it was apart. I had the frame powder coated blue (I requested dark blue... it turned out baby blue...) But I put it back together anyway and had mom & dad's camcorder out for the process! My mom came across the footage last winter and I've been sitting on it waiting for this project to get to this point! Hope you like it! Do I look the same?? lol
Anyway, there's a lot of history for me with this machine. She'll be coming to Trike Fest with me when she's all finished! Hopefully you'll be there to check it out in person!!
