Known as year of the Water Rabbit according to the Lunar Calendar - it will last until the first part of 2024 which began last January. Regarding the weather, it was a warmer day for the Boston lion dance parade celebration & festivities.
Teams & lions from other troupes gathered and marched in a parade towards the stage with performance before approaching the streets with firecrackers at Chinatown business shops and restaurants. Opening stage performance for celebrations included lion dance from Boston Chinese Freemasons Athletic Club, Wah Lum Kung Fu, Gund Kwok Asian Women Lion Dance and Dragon Troupe (all female dancers from Boston Chinatown ), On Leung (Chinese Merchants Association), Chiu Mo Kwoon, Wong Keung lion dance and dragon troupe, Calvin Chin Martial Arts Academy, Wong Family Lion Dance Association, Nam Pai Kung Fu and Woo Ching White Crane in the USA Boston Chinatown area. Overall it was a fantastic day with great weather. Young generation Múa Lân trung quốc or barongsai cub lions also joined in the Boston Lion Dance Lunar New Year CNY Parade activities. 🧧 Chinese New Year 2024 falls on Saturday, February 10th, 2024 - where many celebrations happen around that date in many countries & cities around the world. Date for the 2024 Boston Lion Dance Parade is Sunday, February 18th to celebrate the dragon year, where hundreds or perhaps thousands attend the beautiful Asian Chinese celebration with many lion dancers & lion dance drumming along with loud red firecrackers in the streets.
