Both the Congress and the BJP have been eyeing the Gujjar community promising them 5% reservations in their election manifesto, but the BJP's hopes for the Gujjar community's support have been dashed with Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla announcing his support to the Congress party. And, Congress has been obviously happy with the decision. Campaign Committee Chief Mumtaj Masih hailed the announcement. But ,BJP spokesperson Kailash Nath Bhatt said it made no difference to party's Gujjar support. In fact, some Gujjar leaders also questioned Bainsla's decision and said he didn't represent the whole community.
