A vlogger built a fake set, hired a camera crew and an Ellen DeGeneres lookalike to fool almost a million YouTubers into believing he appeared on The Ellen Show.
Superfan Lukasz Jakobiak, whose lifelong ambition was to appear on the real show, claims he recruited an entire production team and bought props from Ellen's online shop to create an replica of Ellen's studio in his native Poland.
Jakobiak's mock interview with 'Ellen', who was really lookalike Beata Skokowska, has been viewed by more than 800,000 people on YouTube.
The vlogger, who won't reveal who funded the project or how much it cost, told MailOnline: 'I look up to Ellen because she has the courage. That's why I chose her. I've been called a genius and a creep.'
Jakobiak's prank began with an Instagram post announcing he was going to realise his dream of meeting the 59-year-old chat show queen.
