SM Asif: Sachar report.
PM: We have done a lot to implement the Sachar committee report. I
have to say with sadness that much could not reach the people. There
are matters which are pending. Some are pending before the courts,
certain other hitches have come. But as far as our govt is concerned,
scholarships have gone up tremendously, allocation under Maulana Azad
Education Fund has gone up, Multi-Sectoral Development Programme is
being implemented. I would be last person to say there is no scope for
improvement.
