The F-150 Lightning is a full-electric version of Ford's popular F-150 pickup truck. One of the standout features of the F-150 Lightning is its "Intelligent Backup Power" innovation, which allows the truck to function as a mobile generator when it's not being driven.
The Intelligent Backup Power system allows the F-150 Lightning to be connected to a home or business, providing power to essential appliances and devices during power outages. The truck's battery can also be used as a backup power source, providing up to 9.6 kilowatts of power for up to 24 hours.
The F-150 Lightning's Intelligent Backup Power system is controlled through the truck's infotainment system, allowing the owner to monitor and control the power usage remotely. The system also includes safety features such as automatic shut-off to prevent overloading and overheating.
In addition to its Intelligent Backup Power innovation, the F-150 Lightning also boasts a range of other advanced features, such as a fully-digital instrument cluster, a 12-inch infotainment display, and Ford's Co-Pilot360 advanced safety suite.
The Ford F-150 Lightning is also built with a dual-motor powertrain, providing all-wheel drive capability, and it's expected to have an estimated range of over 300 miles per charge. It's also equipped with Pro Power Onboard, which allows to power tools and equipment directly from the truck's battery, with an output of up to 2.4 kilowatts.
