Video 14.3 Object Shift
In this video the phenomenon of Object Shift is discussed. It's argued that shifted objects correlate to accusative case. So the functional projection AgrOP is introduced as the position where accusative case is assigned. Thus disconnecting Accusative case from the verb. This allows for a more elegant explanation of why the DPs in passives cannot receive accusative case: The passive voice head does not select for AgrOP.
