State Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil sat down with KCRA 3 for an interview on Friday morning as she becomes the first state lawmaker in nearly 80 years to switch her party affiliation from Democrat to Republican during their term. She represents Senate District 4, which encompasses part of the Central Valley and a North East portion of California. Alvarado-Gil discussed her decision, her experience as a Democrat, her votes as a Democratic state senator, President Joe Biden and her views on both candidates for President, Vice President Kamala Harris and Former President Donald Trump. At three points during the interview, either her or her staff tried to stop the questioning.
