They can't but still in this video we swap the axles in a pair of eggbeaters 1 for a titanium pair, with nuts and also swapped the end caps for aluminum ones from an original refresh kit. The axles are not chinese, they are swiss made but can be any Chinese ones if the Ti alloy is strong enough. This way you have a lightweight pair of pedals for less than 100 bucks instead of paying 400 for almost the same thing.
