Mount Talang is located about 9km from the town of Arosuka capital of Solok district, and about 40km east of Padang city.
This mountain is a type of stratovolcano with a height of 2597 m,is one of the active volcanoes in West Sumatra,and one of its crater into a lake which is called Lake Talang.Mount Talang has erupted many times since 1833 until 2007.
