On August 1, CCG President Wang Huiyao hosted a special dialogue featuring Ronnie C. Chan, Chair of Hang Lung Properties Limited and Chair Emeritus at the Asia Society, and Susan A. Thornton, Senior Fellow at the Paul Tsai China Center of Yale Law School and former Acting Assistant Secretary of the US State Department for East Asian and Pacific Affairs.
It took place as the US Deputy Secretary of State concluded her visit to Tianjin and the new Chinese Ambassador to the US arrived in Washington D.C., raising many questions regarding the future of this relationship. This dialogue delved into the dynamics of the China-US relationship as well as issues related to global governance in today’s world, and was part of CCG’s 7th Annual China and Globalization Forum.
In the 2nd part, Dr. Wang and Mrs. Thornton exchanged their views regarding how to improve China-US relations in a longer horizon and strengthen global governance mechanism.
