STORYLINE:
Hundreds of Muslims from the Islamic political group Hizb ut Tahrir Indonesia gathered in front of the US embassy in Jakarta on Sunday morning, to protest against President Barack Obama's forthcoming visit.
Obama plans to stop over ahead of the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) summit in Bali, which is due to begin on 17 November.
Those demonstrating carried posters and banners and chanted "God is great" as they assembled on the road in front of the embassy.
"Indonesia, as the biggest Muslim country in the world, should not welcome Obama. He is an example of how Muslim states can be occupied. That should not happen," said Ismawan Yusanto, spokesperson for Hizb ut Tahrir Indonesia.
"That's why we will keep expressing our willingness (by demonstrating) not only in Jakarta, but also in other big cities in Indonesia," he added.
