FE25098914 Bolshoi Ballet has made its first visit to Israel. The tour
25.9.89 is seen as a further indication of the improving relations
between Jerusalem and Moscow,which broke off formal ties with
Israel after the 1967 Middle East war. Bolshoi choreographer
Yuri papko said he was delighted to be in Isrrael. He said he
was aware of the political significance of the 50-member
troups visit but added that he was sure the ballet would help
bring the people of Israel and the Soviet Union closer
