2014 VW transporter T5 180ps T32 Sportline, Black.
I collected it from the dealer 27 days ago, it was professionally detailed by [ Ссылка ] and i collected from the detailer yesterday. Swirl marks have been polished out and Sonax NPT was used, which the detailer suggested as the vehicle is used daily for work my work as an Electrician. Now the van has a deep reflection with no swirl marks, the colour looks darker and blacker.
The Sportline package is a highly specced vehicle with limited options. To specify a highline to a similar specification would cost more, which is the appeal of the Sportline.
It is my understanding the Sportline is unique to the UK. I believe when entering the country the vehicle is taken to a conversion company who make the unique sportline options (sport line leather seats, sportline logo on the mirrors, floor mats). The detailer noticed the black on the wing mirrors is different to the bodywork, which would tie in with the conversion company fitting ones they have prepared already. It is a shame they are unable to use wing mirrors that have been painted at the same time as the body work.
Until April 2013 they used to come lowered 30mm, but i am led to believe that stopped due to 'type approval' whatever that actually means. The dealer offered me the option of having it lowered by them which i have had done. As i requested to keep the old springs i can see from the box they have fitted caravelle springs which i believe lower it 20mm. I could have got better quality lowering springs, but i wanted the dealer to do it so nothing affected the warrantee.
If anyone has any more information on the Sportline and how it becomes one i would love to know more.
