Let's see if we can use sweep picking licks in blues. What I'm doing here is playing 3 notes with alternate picking, then a sweep and then a 3 more alternate picking notes.
If this is too difficult at first, skip the 3 alternate picking notes, and go straight for the sweep.
Sweep picking simply means your rake (sweep) the pick across multiple strings in one motion. These licks have exactly 1 sweep... plus a few other notes, to complete the phrase.
Now, I'm definitely not a master at sweep picking. To check out a real master, type in Frank Gambale in youtube. He's a true GURU at this technique.
