ANC President Cyril Ramphosa says defeating the coronavirus pandemic would lead to the revival of South Africa's economy. Delivering a virtual address of the party's January 8 Statement to mark the ANC's 109th anniversary on Friday, Ramaphosa said the impact of the coronvirus pandemic on South Africa had worsened its already struggling economy. 2021's theme is Unity, Renewal and Reconstruction in the year of Charlotte Maxeke. Ramaphosa further added that the party's Integrity Committee will be strengthened and enabled to deal with corruption. Late last year, the committee ruled that the Secretary General of the ANC Ace Magashule step aside from his position, pending finalisation of his corruption case relating to the asbestos scandal.
