Five people were injured, two seriously, after a suspected gas explosion completely destroyed two houses in Manchester (pictured). The homes, in the suburb of Blackley, were damaged in the blast at 12.25pm today, and emergency services are currently at the scene (bottom left and right) going through the debris. Police said they didn't believe the blast to be suspicious and they were treating it as a suspected gas explosion. Firefighters later pulled a kitten (inset) from the wreckage and confirmed it was doing well. Now aerial photographs from the scene show the trail of devastation left behind.
