Nearly 20 poets from the United States, France, Australia, Argentina, Japan, India and other countries, together with some Chinese poets, gathered in Shanghai for the Ninth Shanghai International Poetry Festival.

French poet Jean-Pierre Siméon was honored with the "Golden Magnolia" Poetry Award for his profound ideological depth and distinctive style.

The annual festival aims to promote cultural exchanges between civilizations. This year's theme is "Harmony in Diversity: A World So Poetic."
