UV Sanitizing Toothbrush Cleaner

The first tip I have is: Don't Brush Where You Flush. In most bathrooms, the toilet is very close to the sink, where most people keep their toothbrushes. Every time you flush, bacteria is released into the air. An English study found that diarrhea-causing bacteria from a lidless flush, meaning flushing with the toilet seat up, flew as high as 10 inches above the toilet. So if you can, keep that toilet seat down when you flush, this will prevent bacteria from landing on your toothbrush and colonizing it to make it theirs.
Secondly: Don't use plastic containers to store your toothbrushes in. The toothbrush can’t necessarily dry out all the way between brushes if its stored in an airtight container. This encourages mold growth on it, so if you do keep it in a container, make sure its absolutely dry and free from other toothbrushes nearby in the same bag or container. Its best to actually keep yours in the medicine cabinet, exposed to air. Generally you can tell if enough air is getting in if your brush dries out between brushes.
Thirdly: Clean your bristles. Occasionally you can soak your brush in hydrogen peroxide or mouthwashes that have antibacterial agents. What you should do is try to clean after every brush by rinsing your toothbrush in tap water or even washing with antibacterial soap. To take it a step further, if you really want to make sure your toothbrush is clean you can try a portable UV toothbrush sanitizer that is supposed to sterilize your toothbrush and minimize bacteria altogether.
Fourthly: Get a new brush. The American Dental Association recommends replacing your toothbrush every three to four months, or more often if the bristles become frayed, if you are sick, or if you have a weakened immune system. Replacement gets rid of germs and makes sure you are using effective brushes.
Fifthly. Dont share your brushes. I know you might be thinking, who on earth shares their toothbrush? Trust me, there are those out there who do. Just do me a favor and get your own toothbrush, it’s just more hygienic. I’d even go as far as not sharing the same toothpaste, as cross contamination can occur here too.
