Fears of flooding are rising high in Calgary and other parts of southern Alberta, with the city under a local state of emergency due to heavy rain.
On Monday afternoon, Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek declared the emergency out of precaution. By doing so, it gives local emergency services the ability to go door-to-door to inform people they could be evacuated and access properties if necessary.
