The political stir has intensified ahead of next year's assembly elections in West Bengal. On Friday, Mamta Banerjee's TMC received a major setback. Party leader Suvendu Adhikari resigned from the post of minister, for the past several days, he had taken a rebellious attitude.
Suvendu Adhikari was posted as Transport Minister in the Mamta government and has a great status in Bengal politics. But for the last few days, the speculation of his going to the Bharatiya Janata Party was sharp, meanwhile, the news of his resignation from the post of the minister has come today.
On Thursday, Suvendu Adhikari had submitted his resignation from the Hooghly River Bridge Commission and has now relinquished the post of minister. Sending his resignation to Mamta Banerjee, Suvendu wrote that I resign from the post of minister, I have informed the Governor about this. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve the state.
