Maui County Bus fare was raised by county council... very sad how it was done...
It costs $11 million dollars A YEAR to run the bus system... they lowered the senior citizen rate (persons most apt to vote) and raise the rate for everyone else who rides the regular bus.... nothing for para-transit, air transport, commuter bus... instead we get a bunch of $100,000 new bus stops that can hold up to 4 people each at one time AND a new $600,000 route upcountry! Really hurts the basic riders of the routes made only on the island of Maui...
