UNSW 3 Minute Thesis 2014 finalist Swahnnya De Almeida is researching the development of a highly sensitive biosensor for cancer markers in the blood - similar to the blood glucose meter used by diabetics.

This technology could provide a fast and inexpensive method of early diagnosis and monitoring of cancer.
