Amidst increasing cases of covid 19 infection in Madhya Pradesh, Home Minister Narottam Mishra Advocated the postponement of State Panchayat Elections. "The polls are not the most essential thing," Madhya Pradesh Home Minister remarked in response to the Allahabad High Court's request to postpone the Uttar Pradesh Election 2022. He went on to repeat the chant, "Jann Hai, Toh Jahan Hai!" When asked about his assembly statement, he answered, "This is my recommendation. Polls do not take precedence over people in my opinion." The Allahabad High Court had previously requested that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Election Commission postpone the impending Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022. The election commission is yet to make a decision.
