This is a quick overview of why and how you use a paint respirator. Paint respirators keep you safe around paints. Enamel paints are not the only paint types that are dangerous to be around. All paints have associated paint dust or particulates. Even non toxic paints can be dangerous due to then containing chemicals that may be no toxic to eat but they do not need to be in your lungs. Professional painters have a high rate of lung and health problems due to the paint vapors they were inhaling for years when they were younger.
A paint respirator is an essential tool all project artists should have close at hand to remain safe. Even spray paint can be very dangerous if it is inhaled over a long period of time. Using a paint respirator helps keep you safe from the short term and long term negative effects that inhaling paint can cause.
