Ever been trapped in a downer conversation. When is it going to end, right? People are fed up with conversation. This isn’t going anywhere! Heard it all before! Let‘s take action! Sure, we all want progress. We want people to walk the talk… but are we in such a rush, that we don’t have time for conversation? Or do we just want more stimulating conversation?
We brought thousands of groups together in Dialogue Experiments – After each, we asked them what helped or hindered their discussion. Patterns emerged and are now free for other’s benefit. We think conversations need to stay personal; we do not prescribe any generic formulas – we simply share the approaches that help, hinder or enhance our conversations. In this session, we will explore your ability to:
• QUESTION. Shape the perfect question.
• EXPERIMENT. Set an intention and explore topics.
• DEBRIEF. Observe personal and group behaviours.
• SHARE. Summarize meaning and offer feedback.
We are living the results of poor conversation. Isolation. Division. Misunderstanding. Better conversations could fix that. But what is good conversation? Is it simply exchanges that make us feel alive? Aware? Recognized? We know that assumptions, manipulation and judgments are conversational turn offs; and we know that empathy, listening, curiosity and questions turn us on. Yet, with all that knowledge, a lot of conversations don’t bring the ideas, progress and energy that we know is possible. This session will help you have more #stimulatingconversation.
BONUS: participants will receive The Tiny Book of Dialogue.
