Taking action - when it's time and to integrate new knowledge is vital to retaining and using it. Visit [ Ссылка ] to learn how Joel, a speaker, trainer and webinar leader, gives people the tools to make lasting changes.
After an inspiring talk, you may be filled with new insights. Implementing them can be tough when the rest of your workplace hasn’t changed, though. These key tips will help:
• Find an accountability partner. It doesn’t need to be someone in your organization—you can partner with someone you’ve just met at the event you’re attending.
• Make commitments to yourself and your partner about the changes you’ll make. Do this before you leave the event. Be concrete and specific about the things you pledge to do.
• Check in with each other about your progress—text or email each other to touch base from time to time. This will help keep the changes you’re working to make in the forefront of your mind, and you’ll both be able to encourage each other throughout the process.
Remember, it doesn’t matter how much you learn—it matters how well you can implement it. When taking action ask yourself, "What action needs to be taken?" This will help you keep the fresh perspectives you’ve gained and implement the new ideas you’ve learned. Taking time to check in with yourself and your accountability partner on a frequent basis will be crucial. You can each give each other a fresh perspective that may help you realize whether you’ve successfully begun to make changes.
Your work environment itself may not support you in making changes. It may reinforce unhealthy behaviors, at least until you’ve created new patterns for yourself. At that point, you’ll truly have integrated the knowledge into your daily life.
Taking action - what it’s time to take action and hold yourself accountable for making changes, you’ll be setting yourself up for success. You and your partner can continually remind each other why what you’re doing is so valuable.
