GoDaddy WordPress Install 2022 Guide
Building a website has never been a more essential conversation than today. Seeing as just about every brand, business, or personal endeavor requires a website to go along with it, it makes sense why so many people are interested in the matter.
This quick guide will help take a look at a GoDaddy WordPress install 2023 style, allowing you to get started on your web journey. Keep in mind, building a site is extremely broad, meaning there are countless avenues for you to take in the process. As long as you follow the instructions, you should be fine.
Once done, you’ll get a basic understanding of how to fully manipulate and edit your site. Don’t worry; there’s no special coding, meaning you’ll get to do this entire process in the simplest way possible. If you have any more questions on the matter, be sure to glance at YouTube or other blogs for the subject. Let’s take a look!
What’s GoDaddy?
For those that don’t know, GoDaddy is a web hosting and domain registrar company. A web hosting company is an especially critical part of building a website as it grants you access to the world wide web. In order for your site to go live, people type in the domain of your site, which is online from your web host.
Hosting Package
As for the actual process of installing WordPress, first you’ll need to take a gander through GoDaddy’s multiple hosting packages. All of these options vary with their pros and cons, making it especially critical for you to take a close examination of what the best option is. If you can do that, it’ll be highly beneficial moving forward.
Domain Name
Once you have the right hosting package selected, here is where you’ll choose your domain name. A domain name is what people will type in order to get to your website. A good rule of thumb is to calculate a domain name that’s simple and easy to remember.
It also should be representative of your site. It wouldn’t make any sense to have a domain name that doesn’t fit your site. Be sure to have a few options in mind since your first option will most likely be taken already. If you have a domain from another source, you can connect it to your GoDaddy account as well.
Installing WordPress
Now that you have a domain name, here comes the most complicated part of installing WordPress. If you wish to skip these steps, you can contact GoDaddy and install them for you for a fee. Still, realize this shouldn’t take any longer than a few minutes, so try to be patient if you can.
GoDaddy makes it very easy to follow along, so click on the install WordPress prompt and follow the instructions. By the end of it, all you’ll have to do is follow the button to the WP admin portion of the instructions. This button will automatically log you into your WordPress admin account, where you’ll fill out the needed information for WordPress.
By the end of it, WordPress should be installed on your site. To access your site’s WordPress dashboard, all you have to do is type /wp-admin onto the end of your site. From there, you’ll get to fully edit your site in a multitude of ways.
Add Theme
Once WordPress is installed, here comes the fun part of editing your WordPress site. First, head over to the appearance area and go to the theme section. A theme is what will give your site its overall look, like an album cover helps give the theme of what’s on a band’s record. You can either pick and install a theme right from WordPress or upload a theme from a third-party site.
Add Content
As great as it is to have a theme and some demo content (if the theme offers it) installed, there comes the next point of adding content. Although you can do this in any order, I usually recommend getting your menus, sidebar, header, and footer to appear how you want.
From there, you can go through and add a bunch of pages, posts, and anything else that you think would be worthwhile for your site. As complicated as this might seem, it’s not as tiresome as it might appear. Just try to go through and familiarize yourself with everything before moving on.
Edit and Make Adjustments
Once you have a slew of content and you’re starting to get more comfortable with WordPress, be sure to focus on how you can make your site better. Keep in mind, it can take you a long time to truly get the most out of your site, so don’t be afraid to take a step back and analyze it. If you can do that, you’ll be on your way to having a great site.
