The East Coast has been slammed with damaging winds and torrential rains, with Southern New England suffering the brunt of the damage. The tough weather was brought when a cold front coming in from the west hit the last of the tropical moisture pushed up by Tropical Storm Philippe. More than 130,000 Connecticut customers were without power early Monday, with that number expected to grow.
