Ukrainian ambassador to the UK, Vadym Prystaiko, asks Nato for a ‘no-fly zone’ over the country during a news conference.

Ukraine said at least 40 of its soldiers had died after being bombarded with more than 30 strikes on civilian and military infrastructure by 11am GMT.

Meanwhile, Boris Johnson has branded Vladimir Putin a “dictator” after he unleashed a “hideous and barbaric” war on Ukraine.
