This final episode of Craftsmen Revealed takes us to Italy and the very heart of over 500 years of violin making history, Cremona, home to Amati, Guarneri and Stradivari.
The ‘musical’ forest of Paneveggio where the resonant spruce trees grow is still the main source of wood for violin; and in Cremona, the city of violin, over 150 violinmaking workshops and schools are passing on the rich Cremonese legacy.
Hantang Culture visited the forest of Paneveggio, the Cremona International Violinmaking School and Museo del Violino where the crafts of luthiers are still resounding in this city.
