PM Modi wants to make India a leader in 6G technology, but currently, millions of people in India still don’t have access to even 2G internet.
On one hand, 5G network expansion is happening in metro cities.
But on the other hand, in some villages, even 4G doesn’t work properly.
According to a report, out of around 45,000 villages in Bihar, 234 villages don’t have access to 4G networks.
But the situation is even worse in 173 villages in Bihar where 4G is not even the issue – they don’t have any kind of mobile internet at all.
The main reason for this is the lack of proper facilities in Bihar.
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) had once raised this issue, but the Bihar government has kept the clearance for over 800 mobile towers pending.
Because of this, towers are not being installed, and internet access is getting affected.
Now, the government had launched the BharatNet project to bring broadband connectivity to 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats across India.
However, it hasn’t been very successful so far.
