The Maine Sub-Lease Agreement is an agreement between an individual that is leasing property ("Lessee") and a person that desires to rent the same property ("Sub-Lessee"). The lessee may choose to re-rent all or a portion of the property through this agreement.
In Maine, the lessee is still liable to pay rent to the landlord whether or not the sub-lessee pays their rent, which is why it is always highly advised to check the credit of all potential tenants.
