July 1967.
Footage of a Nigerian Army officer identified as Captain Bisi Ajala interviewing two prisoners of war captured by Federal forces in the Ogoja sector of the Nigerian Civil War.
The town was captured from the army of the secessionist state of Biafra which was formed out of the Eastern Region which broke away from Nigeria on May 30th 1967.
The war officially began on July 6th 1967.
The men who were natives of Calabar and Ogoja, both areas of the old Eastern Region populated by non-Igbo ethnic groups, spoke of being forced to join the Biafran military.
The location of the interview is uncertain. It might be in Ogoja or in Makurdi where a large prisoner of war camp was established by the Nigerian Army.
