Wemby has not only looked like the frontrunner for the Defensive Player of the Year Award but he is also starting to look like an MVP contender, as he's posting elite numbers after a slow start to the season. The San Antonio Spurs are also looking like real playoff hopefuls thanks to Wembanyama and his dominant play, as well as a strong supporting cast with veteran point guard Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes, as well as young core pieces Stephon Castle, Jeremy Sochan, and Devin Vassell. Wembanyama is averaging close to 4 blocks per game which would be the most in an NBA season for a very long time.
