In the past few weeks, there’s been a ton of debate on whether India is undercounting COVID-19 deaths and by how much. In this video, science writer Priyanka Pulla talks about what she found during her reporting. She says – yes, India is definitely undercounting deaths and the extent of it is very high in some states. For instance, Telangana may not be reported as many as 50% of its total COVID-19 deaths in their official numbers and this is not a good thing.
