Founded by hockey historian K. Arumugam, One Thousand Hockey Legs, introduces hockey to at least 500 underprivileged kids in schools. The only hockey NGO in India, has successfully introduced hockey teams in 80 schools across five cities in India since 2008. Its the major private effort at grassroot level. [ Ссылка ] OTHL visualizes a career for underprivileged kids of age 11-15 by providing them an opportunity to play sport in their school thereby ensuring they attend school regularly and take interest in both sports and academics.
OTHL has helped around 2000 kids seek pleasure in sport, and consider it a tool for career advancement. These kids have been imparted skills, and have started winning prestigious tournaments, recent one being Cairns Juniors Cup.
