From the great Ludovisi collection of antiquities, this Greek inscription from the 2nd century CE—last seen by scholars in 1890—is doing perfectly well in the garden of Rome's Casino Aurora, in the collection of †HSH Prince Nicolò and HSH Princess Rita Boncompagni Ludovisi. Here a certain Athenodotus (very likely a famous philosopher admired by Marcus Aurelius) commemorates and 'heroizes' his son Theodorus, who died just after his 18th birthday.
