Spiritually Transmitted Diseases with Sidi Baraka Blue

Religion was revealed so that human beings would have a means to transform the base metal of the lower nafs into the pure heart of gold possessed by the enlightened knowers of God. Yet, there are many common pitfalls of the path which plague spiritual communities and individuals. These are the veils which distance one from Truth, create unhealthy and judgmental communities, and bar us from drawing nearer to Allah.

Drawing from some of the best insights of the Islamic spiritual tradition as well as those of modern psychology, in this recording some light has been shed on some of the most common spiritually transmitted diseases and the means to diagnose and cure them in oneself. We will examine such topics as: The Spiritualized Ego, Judgmental Religiosity, Spiritual Pride, Healthy vs. Unhealthy Communities, Spiritual Bypassing, Confused Intentions, and more.

Sidi Baraka Blue is a world renowned outspoken poet. In addition Sidi Baraka Blue has a Masters degree in Islamic studies and has done great research on the works of Imam al-Ghazali.

Sidi Baraka Blue has had the opportunity to learn from the giants of knowledge in this time, with the likes of Habib Umar bin Hafiz, Shaykh Hamza Yusuf and Imam Zaid Shakir.

Sidi Baraka Blue currently teaches at the Ta'leef Collective and has helped form their MMP programme for convert Muslims.
