This Episode is one from my new series where I'm going to catch up with everyone and taste every single food I've missed for the past 30+years. #shorts
Every episode goes like this: MY wife picks the food and doesn't tell me. Then I taste it "live" and react to it and tell a little of my history and allergic to that specific item.
In episode 35 I taste Canadas most sacred treasure. Maple Syrup. I've never tasted maple syrup, even though i'm not allergic to it, but It's not that common in Finland to have Maple Syrup.
It was really good and I can't wait to get to taste it with different ingredients like Bacon and pancakes. No wonder Maple syrup is worth fighting over in canada.
Maple Syrup didn't work with coffee though.
On to the next one!
For 20 years, I didn't know Mango's existed, let alone what they looked liked. My wife was the first one to bring a mango to my knowledge, but unfortunately I was allergic. The taste of peas was soil and dirt. Nothing else. I don't want to eat them alone anymore.
I am finally free of the fear of death. I don't have to be constantly checking what ingredients different foods have, in the fear of them making me sick. I can finally start living my life normally. Visit places where I haven't dared to go because of my allergies.
I made a video 6 months ago, about my allergies and restrictions.
This was the description
My doctor asked me if I feel like I have some restrictions in my life, and it was not an easy question.
I have lived with my severe allergies my whole life. I do not know how life is without them, so can I know if it is restricting?
I am allergic to fish, nuts, peas, beans, oranges, tomatoes, cats, horses... you name it. It would be shorter list to tell you what I can eat/touch. Some have worse reaction than others. But I feel like my allergy to myself is the one that restricts my life the most. Yes. I'm allergic to myself and it mainly affects my skin. I have a really bad skin, dry, red and infected and sweating makes it worse.
After that video my Wife told me to contact the doctor and ask for the test. Long story short, they are now finally done and I'm free of 99% my allergies.
How? Thanks to science and medicine evolving in 20 years. Last time my Allergies were tested, They told me I could die of almost anything. Now there were more tests and more knowledge and it happens to be, that I won't die, but I'm still allergic to a lot of things.
That Alone is a huge step to having a normal life and I'm going to record it here, Instagram and TikTok. Testing foods I haven't eaten for 30 years. Tasting new things, I can't wait to taste Fish for the first time of my life.
Do you have allergies? Have you experience the same as me? What does Fish taste like? What does Avocados taste like? Is Ben & Jerry's really that good? Let me know in the comments!
