Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto vs Keigo Sonoda / Takeshi Kamura
Fajar Alfian (born 7 March 1995) is an Indonesian badminton player who affiliated with the SGS PLN Bandung.[1][2] Together with Muhammad Rian Ardianto, he won the men's doubles bronze medal at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games,[3] the silver at the 2018 Asian Games,[4] and another bronze at the 2019 BWF World Championships.
Muhammad Rian Ardianto (born 13 February 1996) is an Indonesian badminton player.[1] Born in Bantul, Yogyakarta, Ardianto plays for the Jaya Raya Jakarta club at national events.[2] In the junior events, he has collected two silvers and a bronze at the World Junior Championships, and also a bronze medal at the Asian Junior Championships. Partnering Fajar Alfian in the men's doubles event, they have won some international tournaments including the Indonesia International in 2014, 2015, and 2016; the Austrian International in 2015; and at the BWF Grand Prix level, the 2016 Chinese Taipei Masters. Ardianto was a member of the Indonesia men's team that won gold medals at the 2017 and 2019 Southeast Asian Games. He also played with Alfian, and clinched the men's doubles bronze at that event in 2017.[3] In 2018, Ardianto and Alfian competed on the BWF World Tour, and won titles at the Malaysia Masters and the Syed Modi International.[4][5] The duo were a silver medalists at the 2018 Asian Games,[6] and bronze medalists at the 2019 BWF World Championships.
Keigo Sonoda (園田 啓悟, Sonoda Keigo, born 20 February 1990) is a Japanese badminton player.[1] He affiliated with the YKK AP Yatsushiro, before joining the Tonami team in 2010. Sonoda was part of the national team that won the 2014 Thomas Cup. He captured his first Superseries title at the 2016 Hong Kong Open, and reached a career high of world number 2 in the men's doubles partnered with Takeshi Kamura in January 2017.[2][3]
Sonoda won the silver medal at the 2018 World Championships and a bronze in 2017. In the continental Asia, he helps the national team won the 2017 Asia Mixed Team Championships, also collected a silver and three bronze medals in the individual men's doubles event. He competed at the 2014 and 2018 Asian Games.[4]
Takeshi Kamura (嘉村健士, Kamura Takeshi, born 14 February 1990) is a Japanese badminton player. He affiliated with the Tonami team since 2012, and has been selected to join the national team in 2013. Kamura was part of the national team that won the 2014 Thomas Cup. He captured his first Superseries title at the 2016 Hong Kong Open, and reached a career high of world number 2 in the men's doubles partnered with Keigo Sonoda in January 2017.[1][2]
Kamura won the silver medal at the 2018 World Championships and a bronze in 2017. Kamura has announced in an interview that the Tokyo Olympics will be his "last shot at an Olympics."[4]
