ILEOCECAL VALVE RELEASE
Your ileocecal valve is located between your small and large intestine and controls the flow of food.
Your want the food, or bolus, moving forward, from your small to large intestine.
If the ileocecal valve does not close well or stay partially opened, you could get a backtrack of food, flowing from the large intestine to the small intestine. Your large intestine is full of bacteria - which is necessary for digestion, immune health, and production of vitamins. However, bacteria does not exist in your small intestine.
If food is flowing backwards, bacteria from your large intestine can flow into your small intestine, resulting in a condition called small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).
In this video, I demonstrate how to release your ileocecal valve so that it can close more smoothly and efficiently function!
