Emotional expression, distinctive intent, and a language all its own, art has abilities beyond the aesthetic. Though many tools are used to ignite social change, art is distinctive in its power to simultaneously capture the moment and propel us into action. Inspired by his Duke Coursera course titled Art of the MOOC: Activism and Social Movements, in this session we will hear from Pedro Lasch, artist and professor, as he expands upon the overlap between social movements and socially engaged art.
