An iconic moment on Columbus Day, the traditional hoisting and act of homage to the Spanish flag, which has been witnessed from a packed Plaza de Lima in Madrid and presided over by the King and Queen, accompanied by the Infanta Sofía.
The national flag was brought by a BRIPAC parachutist in an act that this year has taken place brilliantly and without any incident.
His majesties have been received by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, to whom some of the attendees have directed a loud whistle and several shouts of resignation.
