This video is part of a research project from the Research Training Group "Diversity Turn and GlobalFood" of the University of Göttingen. The video was produced and then screened in a field experiment in Madagascar.

The video “Fulgence’s story of achievement” is part of a three-video intervention that screened videos to secondary school students in the SAVA region of Madagascar. The intervention took part in the four public high schools of the region.

In this video a male role model, Fulgence, narrates how he succeeded in achieving an important goal he set for himself: becoming a teacher at a University. The video shows that despite different hardships (lack of financial resources, lack of confidence, and lack of successful examples), he achieves his goal. He describes the steps he went through and how he felt once he achieved it. In addition, the video narrates how some people from his network (family, friends and colleagues) admire him for imagining and achieving a different future.
