Transnet CEO Portia Derby says the company is engaging with the agricultural sector to see how it can make rail infrastructure more accessible to them. The sector is meanwhile calling for the ongoing Transnet strike to be resolved quickly citing losses. Various industries say the strike is hampering the import and export of goods. The fresh produce market, for one, has come out to say that further delays may lead to job losses.
